.The Musical (and movie) Wicked brought so many amazing words into our world... since it can be confusifying for my Fellow Ozians, I thought a glossary might be helpful... I put as many of our favorite Oz-isms in as we could along with some definish definitions. (Please feel free to let me know if you have additions to the definitions. I did not make up the words themselves - Stephen Schwartz and/or Winnie Holtzman did... but I am making up most of the definitions here!) - Zebrine Iris Gray - a Wicked Superfan and Oz historian
Braverism
An incredible quality that allows one to stand up courageously to enemies and tricksters.
Confusifying
To confuse a situation as much as possible.
Congratulotions
A smoooooooooooth way of congratulating someone.
Definish
Not quite. Almost there. Maybe. Perchance.
Fellow Ozians
This has been widely agreed upon by many as the "fandom name." Who decides if one is an Ozian or not? You do! Basically, to be an Ozian, you feel it. Most of us feel like we are somehow separate from the rest of the world and on a quest. That's how we got to the yellow brick road. Whether we travel through book, musical, screen, or any other form of storytelling, it's all part of the story. And I absolutely think that all paths in Oz are valid. It's a magical place. I've been an active part of this fandom for a very long time. This movie is new, but I welcome it. This phrase was used by Galinda in her speech in the beginning of the second act of the musical, so we shall see if the second movie begins in a similar way.
Hideodious
Oh, how ugly! That thing is so terrible it practically reeks! It stinks! It has an odor! I must hide all of my senses from it! Please, quickly, take it away!
Manifestorium
More than a manifestation, a manifestorium is something that has been collecting for a long time, practically festering. Madame Morrible uses this word to refer to the new "Wicked Witch of the West" because she knows it will create a much harsher propaganda against Elphaba.
Moodified
To modify a situation based strictly on your mood. Are you happy? Great. Then make everyone around you happy by tossing glitter in the air. Are you feeling down? Too bad, so sad. The mood of the room will have to reflect your sad situation.
"Oz Bless You"
If you are lucky enough to get an individual audience with the Wizard of Oz himself, he may grant you your heart's desire. But determining exactly what that may be can be tricky. Sometimes it can be a monkey's paw sort of situation... (a flying monkey's paw sort of situation?...)
Pronouncifying
To enunciate and pronounce with much confusifying thrown in for good luck.
Rejoicify
Celebrate in a loud and joyful way! Rejoice boisterously
Scandalocious
When something is "scandalocious," it must be a cross between scandalous and delicious. Or sandy and nutritious? Maybe? Better check out the Ozdust Ballroom. It's the most Scandalocious place in town.
